VALENTINE'S DAY, GIRLFRIENDS & DANCES

This year the boys' preschool had a "sock hop" for Valentine's Day. The boys were VERY excited about it before it happened and they dressed up for it and we all went. When we got there, Cal refused to dance or in any way participate. We have no idea why and he never explained. But he sat in a chair on the side of the gym & pouted the entire time. He couldn't even be persuaded to make and eat his own cookie - pretty sad. Better luck next time. He did enjoy the act of giving and receiving Valentine's cards to his friends in class, as did Griffin. They both had parties with cupcakes (do you see a recurring theme here?) and juice and all the trimmings. Huge success.

You may have noticed in the photos that the boys both have long, scraggly hair that is wayyyy overdue for a cut. The reason why is that haircuts are usually a screaming, crying ordeal that none of us ever volunteer for. We finally broke down and took the plunge again after a day full of sugar for Valentine's thinking they would have to be pretty happy with all that sugary goodness in their systems. It worked and both did really well. I was forced to bribe Griffin with not one but two suckers for being a good boy which he promptly made me pay up on.
Finally, we enjoyed a visit from Amy & Robb Lee with their little girl Pearson over Valentine's weekend. They were in town for a family wedding and the boys had a blast entertaining Pearson who took some of her first steps at our house! She's probably already a walking champ by now. They thought she was their little doll and loved playing with her and talking to her as you can see from the photos. I think we may have a future romance on our hands with her & Cal. We would be thrilled to marry those two off together! They are a gorgeous family as you can see.
