8 MONTHS AND CRAWLING!!!!

Apparently someone set an alarm clock in Griffin's head that went off when he turned 8 months old. In the 1 week since that time, he has learned how to crawl, started pulling himself into a sitting position from flat on his back, is rolling over to sleep on his belly, pulling himself up to standing, and holding his own bottle (with some inclined support). No idea what he was waiting for but now that he is going, he is GONE! He wants to stand up or crawl all the time and is starting to cruise around on the furniture. And did I mention he loves pancakes? This big smile on his face from the Bumbo chair is due to the pancakes he holds in both hands. YUM!

HOUSE DIVIDED
The UT v. Arkansas game finally arrived and we were a house divided. Doesn't Cal look sad to be wearing that Hog Hat? That's because the Horns HAMMERED the Hogs with a huge win 52-10 but who's counting? Mommy's counting, that's who! And no, Griffin is not color blind. He is wearing a UT shirt and razorback pants. We had a big party afterward to celebrate the game and our new addition which is finally finished. It was a blast and even Cal had a ton of fun playing with all the "big kids" who came over with their families. He has not been in the best of spirits lately after going through surgery last week to have his adenoids removed and new ear tubes put in. The good news is that ear finally stopped draining rubber cement (after 3+ weeks) and the MD said his adenoids were possibly the most infected he had ever seen. So we feel good about the results and he seems to be back to normal. That is if you call hurling himself off of Griff's changing table in a swan dive 3 hours after surgery "normal."

PLAY DATES
We are doing a nanny share arrangement with our friends Susan and Mike Hickey and their little guy Paul who was born a week after Griffin. He comes over on Friday mornings and hangs with Griffin & Rebeca. To say that Paul outweighs Griff is to call Tiger Woods a pretty good golfer. WOW. This kid can EAT! Here are a couple of cute photos of the two having a snack together.

SO COOL!

Cal's new obsession is sunglasses. Mom's fit him great.

GRIFF LOVES PICKLES
Who knew? This is hilarious.

NOT QUITE CRAWLING

But close! Check it out. Shouldn't be long now. Poor Griff - it is hard work learning how.

THE ENTERTAINER
We had planned a post-game party as a grand opening for our new addition which is finally party-ready. Hurricane Ike had other plans. So even though we didn't get a drop of rain, literally, they cancelled the UT-Arkansas game and rescheduled it for 2 weeks later when both teams had a bye week. We had a small group over any way to watch some other games and mom's friend Elisabeth Earle brought her daughters, Alexandra and Avery (fondly known as the "Earle girls"). Clearly, Cal knows a good thing when he sees one. He & Avery did a really nice duet of "Twinkle Twinkle" I thought we should share. Please ignore the drunken laughter of the adults in the background....You will also enjoy the sequel: "Big boy underwear on the head" in the next clip. We were all a little punchy by that time...

And one more...this one's a solo by Cal with guitar, too, performed the day after the Earle girls' visit. He just couldn't get enough. Turn up your speakers and you can actually hear him sing the ABC's - sort of.

JUST FUN STUFF

These are just some random fun photos and videos of the boys. Griffin is starting to like to stand up and grab ahold of the furniture. Cal is still just crazy.
